Local Wedding Ideas: Part 1

I love the idea of supporting local, small businesses.

Of eating healthy and organic.

I like the idea of buying things from people you know, right here in our own town.

Of going into your bank or local coffee shop and being known by name.

So throughout the summer you will be seeing different little businesses featured on this blog.

With the main focus being on weddings.

So what time could be better, than Memorial weekend, to start off this idea of highlighting businesses right in your own back yard of America.

Welcome to SassafrasBlue:

These rose earrings are to darling!

They are handmade clay roses.

When I saw these earrings, my first thought was; "perfect bridesmaid earrings."

Know anyone getting married this summer?

Or just need some pretty earrings for a date.

The waiting...

Anticipation.
Delight.
Butterfly’s in your stomach
The moments before you walk down the aisle.
Getting the dress on...

...The vail...

...and the shoes.

Waiting for that moment when they tell you,

"It times!"

The laughter and eagerness that fills the room....

A scurrying of feet as everyone rushes out and then it is here, that moment when everyone is silent.

Arms are locked, the music is playing.

The waiting is over.

Spring is the time for Love...

I had the honor of being a bridesmaid in my friends Pete and Tiffany wedding this past week.

(Two weddings in one week, it’s been busy!)

It was a stunning wedding at Hidden Meadows (http://www.visithiddenmeadows.com/index.htm) in Snohomish.
The reception was filled with glorious flowers that filled the air with magic.

The bride was radiantly beautiful!

(I couldn't resist bringing my camera along to sneak a few shots in.)

Congratulations my dear friends!

May the Lord bless you greatly, as you walk through life together.

Love is in the air...

They say, "April showers bring May flowers"...

I couldn't agree more,

My beautiful, lovely friend Marina got married this past week.

She was the most stunning of 'flowers.'

I had the honor of being one of Marina's bridesmaids and standing to support her and Mitch in this

covenant they made to each other before God and many witnesses.

As a photographer, I had to bring my little snap-and-shoot and take just a few pictures.

Who could resist such an exquisite bride!

~Congratulations Mitch and Marina~

Enchanted, Whimsical Forest

My husband and I went on a road trip to the Redwoods this winter, the tress are so huge! So here are my ramblings of the magic of them...

What is it about bridges in the middle of the forest, that make you want to cross them? When the moss is growing around the edge, as if to cover footprints of travelers past. Perhaps the moss, the creaky old wood, the mass of the forest beyond, tell of adventure, of magic, of stories of old.

And as you cross, you enter a land of the unknown, as though you are going through a portal. You see the pathway curving around trees and bushes; wondering off into this glorious land.

Only to discover the beauty of this hidden forest, this land of enchantment, to stand in wonder and curiosity at the majesty of the creation before you.

This is a whimsical forest. Trees that reach to the sky, they are so high, you cannot hear the birds singing as they rest on their tops. It is another world up there, and another here. Here in this green land of delights.
